Overview

A seemingly unremarkable man called “Mouse” is caught by the police. I didn’t know Beat Takeshi had a new film out, just happenstance that I noticed it on Amazon. It’s an intriguing setup: a straigtforward dramatic crime story about a hit man and the mob, then the exact same story retold as a silly, slapstick comedy.

It’s very effective, as it allows Takeshi to poke fun at the whole genre. I laughed a lot, mostly seeing Takeshi and his tough guy persona doing pratfalls and generally making fun of himself.
