A film I saw at a preview screening in L.A. back in 1982. It’s based on the Chilean coup in the 1970’s, although the country is unnamed in the film. It’s a blistering attack on authoritarian regimes and on the U.S. government’s involvement in these military coups.
Strong performances from Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek. The dangerous and unnerving atmosphere that’s created is where the film is at its best.
