An unsettling, disturbing horror film. Not for the squeamish. The trauma of losing a child is the basis for what leads to some bloody, graphic incidents (there’s a scene with a kitchen knife that is cover-your-eyes horrific).
Sally Hawkins is great. From the beginning, you sense that there’s something a bit odd about her character, and she just gets more and more unhinged as the story unfolds.
