Viewing Notes

It’s beautiful to look at, but the greatness of the novel doesn’t translate well, at least not in this film. All the elements are there, but they’ve made it deathly dull.

Francis Coppola wrote the screenplay and maybe he should have directed as well. Bruce Dern as Tom Buchanan is the best part of the movie.
