Viewing Notes

Bergman just seems out of his element here: an English language film with a big budget and an American star, set in 1920’s Berlin. And the ending is really weird. Carradine’s performance is awkward. Thank goodness for Liv Ullman, who doesn’t have much of a role, but is good as always.
