I remember this being very controversial at the time, but has since become a blueprint for so many films. It’s a slick, well made film.
This made Bronson a huge star and he’s pretty good, transforming from a “bleeding heart liberal” to a gun-toting vigilante. I like the atmosphere of grimy, crime-ridden New York of the 1970’s.
Jeff Goldblum made his screen debut as a psycho POS and there are a number of other recognizable actors in small roles: Christopher Guest, Paul Dooley, Olympia Dukakis, Marcia Jean Kurtz.
