Viewing Notes

A Damon Runyon story with characters right out of GUYS AND DOLLS. It’s a mostly entertaining film. Weirdly, though, the two main characters are annoying. Lucille Ball is very good, but her character is an unlikable, entitled bitch. And Henry Fonda is also good, but he’s so mild-mannered and subservient that you just want to slap him around.

This was showing on Noir Alley with Eddie Muller, which is kind of perplexing, since it’s not much of a film noir.
