Viewing Notes

The Dardennes brothers have an uncanny ability to elicit wonderful naturalistic performances from unknown actors. Here, they follow the stories of five unwed mothers and their individual struggles.

The Dardennes’ compassion for their characters always comes through, and there are some really heartbreaking moments in this film.
