Overview
A heroic but cocky firefighter pays no regard to the dangers of the job but lacks the courage to face his personal demons. When faced with a giant and volatile inferno, he must put aside personal differences with his boss if they are both to survive.

Viewing Notes
Johnnie To is one of my favorite filmmakers. This film, however, fails to grip. There is a great deal of standard HK melodrama before an admittedly entertaining 3rd act. However, a few great sequences can’t elevate the entire film. Fun to fill in gaps in his filmography but not worth revisiting.
