Viewing Notes

I saw it in IMAX, which is definitely the way to go. While I certainly enjoyed it, I thought it paled in comparison to “The Dark Knight”, and it actually became tedious at times, which I’ve never said of a Nolan film, him being one of my favorite filmmakers. The action scenes were fun and unique, though and the story was interesting enough.

Overall, I thought there was too much Bruce Wayne and Bane and not enough Batman. That being said, Bale once again did a masterful job as Wayne. Bane’s voice definitely caught me off guard at first, but I grew to appreciate it. It was a little hard to understand him, though. I also liked how ruthless he was. However, there was too much of him in the movie and I ultimately found him to be a rather boring character. He always looked exactly the same and struggled to show any emotion behind that godforsaken mask, yet it felt like he was in almost every scene. I liked The Joker and even The Scarecrow much better.

Hathaway, however, was a huge surprise. She was a fantastic Catwoman.
