Viewing Notes

While Port of Call: New Orleans shares the same character name with the original and is also similar in that he’s a bad copy, Werner’s Herzog’s take on the film is much different. It’s crazy. Seriously, that’s the easiest way to describe this film. Not only is Nic Cage unleased in this film, showing the most unsual sides of his personality, but he’s blazing at 100% looney toons. Then you add in Herzog’s insane lizard cam shots and you have an amazing film to watch.

This movie was completely captivating from moment one until the credits rolled. The theatre laughed and cheered together.

Easily one of the best movies I saw from the 2009 lineup, even though I didn’t see it until 2010.
