Viewing Notes

Franklyn is more ambitious than what it can deliver. While I did like the world the fantasy elements of the movie, when it returned to the real world and the supposed main drama, finding a connection with the characters was difficult.

I did enjoy Ryan Phillipe and Eva Green’s performances. She’s very hot and he has an infectious charm to him. The character design of Philippe’s alter-ego is something not easily forgettable and very iconic, with the mask with the big eyes, but in the end, it’s not a movie that can deliver.

I didn’t hate it, didn’t love it and wouldn’t bother watching again. Nothing special here.
