Viewing Notes

A Town Called Panic was a huge hit at last year’s Fantastic Fest and I happened to miss it. I usually miss a lot of the animated features because I tend to doze off in them for some reason. I wasn’t impressed with the trailers for ATCP either, but over and over people told me how great it was. Jenni loved the trailer so we headed out to see it today.

The movie is pretty zany. It’s French and all done with those little army men style figures but they’re a cowboy, indian and horse. With others in a small town and to celebrate Horse’s birthday, Indian and Cowboy order bricks to make a BBQ. Except they screw it up and order millions. What transpires is all sorts of crazy but also very funny and charming. I can see why people loved it. However, while I really enjoyed ATCP I’m not sure I really loved it. I’d say it’s worth seeing but I wasn’t blown away and I don’t really feel the need to see any more from these characters again. I am glad I got to see it in a theater though and support it.
