Viewing Notes

Also known as Lesbian Vampire Killers, this film has it all…British humor, lesbians, vampires, hot chicks, oh and exploding chicks.

This turned out to be not exactly what I was expecting but in fact, that was good because it was one of those horror comedies that the Brits do well and I had a blast watching. Lots of hot chicks get turned into vampires and a pair of bungling dudes (why is it always one chubby goofball and one skinny loser?) have to go and save the day.

I liked the quick edits and sped up film tricks they used for effect. It added to the stylized feeling of the film and fit well. All the vampire girls were easy on the eyes, and although there’s not really any gore, they when they’re killed they seem to spew white goo. Maybe it’s a semen joke somehow in an ironic way, that when these lesbians die they explode in a shower of white sticky stuff? Either way, it worked for me.

You can’t help but compare this to Shaun or Doghouse and to me, that’s not a bad thing as I like both of those movies. I certainly recommend Vampire Killers.
