Another impressive Lovecraft and Gordon film for me. Not only did I think it captured a lot of that classic Lovecraftian styled mythos, an almost an appearance from a cthulhu looking guy, but it was also a great thriller.
For some reason the main guy Paul Marsh (played by Ezra Gordon) actually reminds me of Grodon’s oft used main actor Jeffery Combs. Hell for a moment I did think it was him.
The movie played out well and I always get a laugh out of how these poor Miskatonic University people get into trouble. Yes, I know its the standard school in Lovecraft’s book but something about seeing it reference in film makes it more interesting to me, after so many years of it being talked about in geek circles.
The practical effects in the film and even the CG comes off very well. The creatures/humans are absolutely freaky.
It made me excited to see more of their works together that I have yet to see, like Castle Freak.
