Viewing Notes

Electric Apricot is a mockumentary put together by Primus’ Les Claypool with a jam band trying to put together a new album and get signed on to play the largest festival around, Festeroo.

Shockingly, despite National Lampoon being the one that put this out, it’s actually quite clever and well made. I won’t stack it up against Spinal Tap or the other Christopher Guest films, but because Les Claypool and his band are legit musicians its easy to buy them as a jam band. They really seemed to fall into the roles and I enjoyed a lot of the scenes and especially the bits where they bring in the psychiatrist to help them finish the record.

All in all I thought it was a worthwhile, fun little mockumentary that is worth a watch since I’m into those sort of things.
