Backwoods is the marriage of The Hills Have Eyes, Severance and Wrong Turn and every other slasher based in the woods with some hillbilly family trying to kill off a group of attractive people.
I’d love to say that it’s amazing and brings a new twist to the tale but really, it does not. In fact the story couldn’t be more generic and with a blaring lack of nudity, gore and new plot twists, Backwoods is about as generic as can be. It’s only claim to fame is that it has Haylie Duff, the Disney princess Hillary’s less popular sister, as one of the hot chicks. And that’s not anything that elevates the movie.
A total 2 star movie, as it’s competent at what it does. It’s not awfully made and it has 3 or 4 good kills in it, though mostly bloodless, but I would recommend the far superior Wrong Turn series before this any day.
