Viewing Notes

The Fourth Kind supposedly mixes real life interviews and filmed reenactments of a psychiatrist investigating some alien encounters in Nome, Alaska.

While I can see what they were going for, the whole thing just ends up being a mess. The “real” footage isn’t very real looking and having reenactments in split-screen alongside the “real” footage is pointless. Why not just show what really happened which should be more effective and scary than anything Hollywood can create.

The story ends up being a terrible take on the Communion story and the acting is bad and it’s not scary at all. And this is coming from someone who is normally a fan of Milla Jovovich. Heck, I even love her in the Resident Evil flicks!

I was hoping from reviews I heard before the movie that it’d end up being a little fun, but its just so preposterous and not even laughable that I ended up just disliking this movie quite a bit.
