If The Butterfly Effect was slightly smarter and starred Jay Baruchel instead of Ashton Kutcher, you’d get Fetching Cody. It’s really pretty much the same damn story, and considering it came out a whopping one year after, it probably should be dinged for that. But…I don’t. I found it to be an entertaining watch despite the similarities because I like Baruchel and the movie paces itself well, never falling too much into trying to explain the science behind his lounge chair taking him back in time (in fact it’s never explained, it just is). I do think his chemistry with Sarah Lind (Cody) was a little off, but I forgive it.
