Viewing Notes

While entertaining in it’s own right, Star Trek IV is the second worst of the original cast films. Being grounded in 1986 San Francisco reduces the scope and grandeur of the Star Trek universe. Also, the plot revolving around humpback whales is ridiculous, even for a Science Fiction story.

With all it’s faults, Star Trek IV is still entertaining. The fish-out-of-water scenario is at times pretty funny and it’s great to have the chemistry of the cast back together with Spock aboard.
