A young mouse named Fievel and his family decide to migrate to America, a “land without cats,” at the turn of the 20th century. But somehow, Fievel ends up in the New World alone and must fend off not only the felines he never thought he’d have to deal with again but also the loneliness of being away from home.

Found the VHS for $2. My kids had never seen this as I’ve been holding out for an anamorphic DVD or even a Blu Ray, but that doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon. So, hello Thrift Store VHS!
Not many animated films can make is dusty in the room, but the end of AN AMERICAN TAIL (as manipulative as it is) has always made me cry. Today (and the first time watching this as a parent) was no exception.
