Overview

Terminal Island, New York: 2020. Overcrowding in the US penal system has reached a breaking point. Prisons have been turned over to a monolithic Weyland Corporation, which sees jails full of thugs as an opportunity for televised sport. Adrenalized inmates, a global audience hungry for violence and a spectacular, enclosed arena come together to form the ‘Death Race’, the biggest, most brutal event.

Rated R | Length 105 minutes

Viewing Notes

I couldn’t go to bed after watching prequel to
DEATH RACE without returning to the original 2008 remake.
In fact, it seemed to be even more fun this time around. Proving that the prequel was successful.

I love DEATH RACE. It’s a dumb, mean, lean flick and I consider it Paul W. S. Anderson’s best movie behind EVENT HORIZON. Decent performances and some balls out crazy action, plus one of my favorite movie quotes ever (by Joan Allen!!!): “We’ll see who shits on the sidewalk!”
