Viewing Notes

How does a film even match 28 years of anticipation? It doesn’t. There’s no way!

So, when I finally got around to seeing TRON: LEGACY on Blu Ray, my expectations were in check. When it all was said and done, I liked it. The plot wasn’t any better than the original. Most of the effects were solid, and the score by Daft Punk drives and elevates the movie.

My ONE major criticism was the “de-aging” effect of Jeff Bridges for his “younger years” scene and for Clu. It’s embarrassingly awful and almost trainwrecks the film. Almost. It’s just shows that the film was rushed and more ambitious than the studio would allow time for. I really hope someday we get a “Director’s Cut” with that one effect fixed. Please?

When it’s all said and done, I enjoyed myself and will definitely watch it again. I’m also welcoming a sequel with open arms.
