I remember when I first heard about Battle Royale. It was supposed to be the most violent thing imaginable, I mean, it was banned in the U.S.! So, when I got the import DVD, I rushed to my DVD player to watch it. Trembling, I pushed play.

Needless to say, Battle Royale wasn’t the most violent thing I’d seen. In fact, it wasn’t even suspenseful. However, it was a pretty kick-ass premise and a thoroughly entertaining action flick. I loved it.

Now, the Limited Edition Blu Ray released by Arrow Films is a sight to behold. One of my favorite boxed sets and the movie looks pretty stellar in HD. It took 2 months to get to me from the UK, but the wait was totally worth it.
