I’d been anticipating Hunter Prey for a long time and when it finally released on DVD, I snatched it up. Hunter Prey is sort of a call back to early 80s Science Fiction. There’s no fancy CGI effects, no space opera. Just an old fashioned chase movie set on a desolate planet.
I adored this movie. The effects are pretty great, the make up and costumes are surprisingly well done. This is a good looking independent movie.
Those searching for a grand action shoot ‘em up are going to be disappointed. Sandy Collera does a great job of capturing the tone of the early 80s Sci Fi without the cheese. It’s a simple, yet timeless story, told with some ingenious special effects and great acting.
