Overview

‘Hell’ is the name of the hero of the story. He’s a prisoner of the women who now run the USA after a nuclear/biological war. Results of the war are that mutants have evolved, and the human race is in danger of extinction due to infertility. Hell is given the task of helping in the rescue of a group of fertile women from the harem of the mutant leader (resembling a frog). Hell cannot escape since he has a bomb attached to his private parts which will detonate if he strays more than a few hundred yards from his guard.

Viewing Notes

I think the world needs more Roddy Piper flicks.  He has the best line in They Live (”...and I’m all out of bubblegum.”) and in unintentionally hilarious here in 1988’s Hell Comes To Frogtown.  In Hell Comes To Frogtown, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper plays the last fertile man on earth.  He gets recruited by the military to search for the last fertile women on Earth solely to impregnate them.  The last of the fertile women are being held captive in Frogtown.  A town populated by mutant frogs.

Seriously, folks, this is the actual plot.

Throw in military babes who want to bed Sam Hell based on “rumors” they’ve heard of his “past performances,” horrible creature effects, Southern California posing as a post-apocalyptic landscape, and scantily clad women firing automatic weapons, you have yourself a Friday Night!

Hell Comes to Frogtown is a horrible movie, but it’s the best kind of bad movie: the entertaining kind.
