Viewing Notes

MR. MOM was one of those “gems” from the Eighties that I remember watching all the time as a kid because it was so hilar. As an adult? Well it’s amusing, I’ll give it that but it’s not as timeless as I expected it to be.

Unfortunately nowadays the film comes across as “quaint” and the humor doesn’t play as well as it probably did in the 1980s; I certainly didn’t get the ROFLs I got as a kid. It’s very much a film of its time, a world in transition when gender roles were shifting and in that it remains interesting, but that’s about all I’ll give it.
