For being an acclaimed series, the Diniverse has always seemed weak in the movie department and MYSTERY OF THE BATWOMAN, RETURN OF THE JOKER aside; they just don’t seem to amp up the action, consequences as much as I feel they should and instead play as long-form episodes like STAR TREK: INSURRECTION.
For whatever my limited brain capacity, I didn’t see Batwoman’s identity reveal coming; I was genuinely surprised, 9 years after having seen it for the first time. But that’s what Dini and Timm succed at: characterization and narrative; BATWOMAN is right there, spot on.
