If there was one thing that the Diniverse did, it was redeem Mr. Freeze; he always seemed like such a silly character, and BATMAN & ROBIN only pulled that character into the depths of hell. But, before that movie, Dini & Timm made him into a grim, tragic character, and that continues here.
The movie does a skillful job of showing how there’s a thin line between what Freeze does and what Batman does and how they’re not so different; Bruce Wayne may have done the same in a similar situation.
As with all Diniverse movies, the narrative and characterization are the true gems of the film and this one is no different. And it almost goes without saying, but the vocal cast is exceptional.
