Every year I contend that MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL is one of the best renditions of Charles Dickens’ classic to date, up there with SCROOGED and a few others.

The soundtrack isn’t amazing in this Muppet movie, but it makes up for it with just being so damned sweet. Everything seems nicely balanced and downright charming. Michael Caine is great as Scrooge and Gonzo is a surprising but perfect choice to be the narrator. The movie also does right by not watering down how dark the story gets at times, but the Muppets have always done well at making adult issues palatable to the younger set.

THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL is a Christmas classic.
