Viewing Notes

Like every environmentally-conscious documentary, BLUE GOLD isn’t exactly biased and is designed to make you angry and spur you into action. And that’s not a bad thing because films can have an impact on the world; it’s just funny that every one of them that I’ve seen follows that pattern and doesn’t look at both sides of the issue.

BLUE GOLD misses the mark by often taking a higher-level approach with advocates of the issue, rather than talking directly to the people actually affected. The film also only advocates one treatment to solve the issues, rather than examining other possible technologies that may be out there. More boots on the ground and fewer talking heads, please.

This one isn’t the most slick and doesn’t exactly inspire vitriol, but at the least, it does make you think about what you’re doing when you pick up a bottle of Ozarka.
