Viewing Notes

Vincent Price is a bad-ass. As a kid I was most familiar with him from commercial voice-overs and THE 13 GHOSTS OF SCOOBY-DOO and I never watched any of his movies, nor any of William Castle’s; see other horror movie posts as to why. So, I thought I would start with this classic.

My biggest complaint is that the story focused a bit too much on Nora and her screaming that erupted every other minute; it would’ve been nice to see more mental torture of the other housemates because it felt like they just disappeared really until the dénouement. And while I absolutely loved the play between Price and Ohmart, I just wish there had been more screentime focusing on their demented relationship.

However, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL did so much right, unlike other movies I’ve watched recently. It’s a required yearly viewing.
