Viewing Notes

There’s some irony in that Elvira, who was a host of a show about horrible horror movies in real life, is the star of a horrible movie. While the concept of Elvira has always been enjoyably campy, it’s astounding how this movie fails on every level, including that one.

There are a few good one liners here and there, but largely the jokes consist of, “Boobs,” and that punchline is dead about two minutes in. Every other joke (decent or mostly not) is a double entendre. That may work for short segments, but for 90 minutes it’s a beating.

As for Cassandra Peterson herself, well, I didn’t expect much of a performance and therefore got exactly that. She did what the role called for and nothing more.
