I started this in May and disliked it so much I turned it off. But, I decided to give it another go. After restarting it, I still really disliked it until about three-fourths of the way through.
The biggest problem with the movie is that the godawful direction. Constant jarring, unneeded jump cuts, actors flittering about their dialogue, and a too long setup make for me almost turning it off again. It’s also clear that no one had a rein on Corey Haim either, because it seemed like he was high the whole time (which wouldn’t be surprising). But, I kept going, Corey Haim faded out of the story, and actually became interested when the non-Haim characters became a bit endearing.
In the end, I’m glad I saw it to check it off my list, but it’s no Two Coreys classic. I can’t imagine why it needed a sequel, but I’ll find that out later. Much much later.
