Overview

Annie’s life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian’s maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. 2009’s overhyped summer comedy was THE HANGOVER; this summer it’s BRIDESMAIDS. I really love Paul Feig, but it’s too bad he opted to put the director’s cut out as the first run instead of the one that should’ve been released. The movie is genuinely funny in parts and I appreciated its heart, but it drags about 20 minutes too long with some jokes are flogged to near-death.
