Viewing Notes

How can one not love this movie?

It’s impossible.

Everything about this makes me long for childhood and bring back so many terrific memories. Fairly certain I saw this initial theatrical run and watched it about a billion times on VHS growing up. Chunk’s hysterical confession lightning round, Sloth, and the whole gang will have me smiling every time.

Some might fight the ending of this film a bit cheesy and typical. The happy ending trope overused by films. I couldn’t help but find tears welling up in my eyes as a flood emotions rushed through my head. Yeah, it’s mostly nostalgia, but I remember my mini-adventures growing up. My friends and I getting on our bikes and roaming all over the neighborhood and plenty of places we shouldn’t have been. These were some of the same friends I would gather with in someone’s living room to watch the heroes of the Goondocks search for One Eyed Willie’s treasure.

They were great times.
