Here it is. The film that everyone and their mother is talking about. At first I skipped out on watching it because it was the same night as the PACIFIC RIM premiere - a decidedly better movie.
Then the reputation annoyed me. People went fucking nuts over this film. Everyone was cracking up at the bad film aspect. “It’s ridiculous. I mean, there is a tornado full of sharks!”
Sigh.
People act like they’ve never seen a bad movie before. And who knows, maybe they haven’t. Myself, and many like me, have made a lifetime out of watching the odder side of cinema. I’ve seen more bad movies than some people have seen movies - period.
I just got a little indignant I suppose. But I decided to watch it and see what the fuss is about. Overall, it’s pretty much what I expected. It’s bad, and has some hilarious “science” and moments of pure ridiculous stuff. The problem is I wouldn’t say it’s the worst movie I’ve ever seen, and not even close to the so-bad-it’s-good movie category. It’s about on par with every other shitty SyFy Original Movie and the other out there shark movies.
Ian Zerring and a chainsaw is pretty cool, but give me Shark Attack 3: Megalodon any day.
