Dracula in Istanbul (1953)

Directed by Mehmet Muhtar

Horror

Overview

Azmi is a lawyer from Istanbul. Drakula of Romania has assumed a new title. Azmi travels to Romania for legal matters. He is warned of Drakula but Azmi is a strong believer of goodness.  This Turkish-made film sticks fairly close to the original plot of Bram Stoker’s novel.

Length 102 minutes

Viewing Notes

A re-telling of Stoker’s classic novel, updated to modern times (50s) in Istanbul. Has some cool photography and lighting, but the story I cannot honestly speak on since there were no subtitles. Sometimes our infamous title character has some genuinely creepy looking moments and that was pretty impressive.
