Overview
The Westphalian furniture manufacturer Heinrich Hencken is shot dead in Duisburg one night in front of his hotel. The next morning, Hubert Möhlmann, the son of one of Hencken’s biggest competitors, appears at the police headquarters and, before any suspicions have been raised in this regard, provides the alibi for all of the Möhlmanns: his father’s, his sister’s and his own. He explains his strange behavior with a threat from Siggi Hencken, the murdered man’s son. He believes the Möhlmanns are his father’s murderers and wants revenge on them. Schimanski begins to observe Hubert Möhlmann.
