The Song of Avila (1967)

Directed by Jonas Mekas

Overview

Jonas Mekas records his 1967 visit to Avila, inspired by Meher Baba’s teaching that it was one of Europe’s holy places. Combining images of the city with his own voiceover reflections, the film becomes a personal meditation on spirituality, place, and unexpected encounters along the path once walked by St. Teresa.
