Overview

Distinguishing fact from fiction is part of the fun in watching Renaud Cohen’s comedy about a director who, like Cohen himself, has not made a film in ten years. When he discovers a cranial lump that is potentially cancerous, he responds the only way he knows how—by making a movie about his impending death. In the vein of Nani Moretti’s Caro Diario, this self-referential film casts Cohen’s real-life family in several roles, further blurring the lines between the real and the celluloid world. This existential comedy pokes fun at everything ranging from sex and death to Jewish film festivals.  Warning: Brief nudity
