It is the lunchtime rush at The Grill, a New York tourist trap that serves thousands of customers on a regular Friday like today. Money has gone missing from the till and all the workers are being questioned.

I liked this film a lot. Similar to THE BEAR, it focuses on the workers and the frenetic activity of a restaurant’s “back of the house.” It’s shot in glorious B&W and mainly in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Rooney Mara is the “star” of the movie, but it’s mainly an ensemble piece.
