Viewing Notes

There’s a lot going on here, to say the least; everything but the kitchen sink. I don’t know if it all ties together successfully, and there are parts that are puzzling, but I was totally on board for the ride.

I’m glad there are some filmmakers still trying to make big, ambitious films like this. There’s something thrilling about that.

Joaquin Phoenix is brilliant. His character is funny, sad, scary, psychotic, desperate, even pathetic at times. 

I’ll probably see it again.
