Overview

Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy and Theo: successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids. But beneath the façade of their supposed ideal life, a storm is brewing – as Theo’s career nosedives while Ivy’s own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites.

Worth watching mostly because of Olivia Coleman and Benedict Cumberbatch, who are both funny and rise above the uneven script. The normally funny supporting actors don’t have much to do and their scenes fall flat. For example, Kate McKinnon seems to be trying to create one of her quirky SNL characters and it just doesn’t work here.

The movie is supposed to take place in Mendocino, north of San Francisco, but according to IMDb, it was shot in Devon, England.
