Viewing Notes

I may be rating this one slightly higher than I normally would because I caught it on my cruise when they had it on in their viewing room. It’s amazing how being on vacation and having everything catered to you can elevate your mood.  While Catching Fire felt like kind of a retread, this one moves into exploring some new ground.  I really like how they’re dealing with the survivors from the games in this and how they went about orchestrating Katniss involvement in trying to generate propaganda films.  I loved Jennifer Lawrence in this. It all just clicked for me and while I am annoyed they split this into two parts, without having seen what they’re doing with the second half of this, it didn’t fell extraneous.  I think we needed to see things evolve on this pace to let all the horror of what’s going on sink in.
