An ex-CIA agent emerges from retirement to protect an important witness, but he soon discovers that old friends can make the most dangerous enemies. I watch this and I can’t help but think of Brosnan as Bond and that this would have made a fantastic Bond film as a send-off. As it is, this is still pretty tight and although they advertised it as the old guy versus his protegee, and there is some of that here, but this is a far more in-depth spy thriller. There are a few points where the plot meanders a bit and a few of the scenes just don’t work quite right, but the rest of it is solid and the action is slick.
