Viewing Notes

Scientists in the Antarctic are confronted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of the people that it kills. John Carpenters masterpiece that combines body horror, sci-fi aliens and a complete psychological thriller all set in the middle of nowhere. Couple all that with some of the most amazing practical effects that have been done and have yet to be really duplicated even by cg effects as they tried to do with the prequel film. The cast is great, the tension builds to a satisfying climax, and the ending just works so well with the rest of the film.
