Viewing Notes
A twisted new tale of terror begins for a teenage girl and her family, predating the haunting of the Lambert family in the earlier movies and revealing more mysteries of the otherworldly realm The Further. I have to admit that I went in completely cold having only seen some of the teaser trailer for this and knowing they were going a prequel route with this one. While that did kill a bit of the suspense with recurring characters, they deal with a lot of the heart of what made the first two work so well. The haunting in this one is creepy as hell and I admit that the film got me several times even when I thought I was braced for what was coming. If we don’t get anymore of these, this was a great way to kind of bring it full circle.
