I forget who suggested this to me, but it’s a winner. An old 80’s science fiction film that somehow doesn’t seem to show up on any radar I’ve seen before.
Instead of going for action it’s all about a guy who wakes up and everyone on the Earth has just disappeared. Eventually he encounters two other people and then they figure out what they think happened.
What was interesting to me was the ending because it’s completely left open to interpretation. I’m not sure if after the final explosion if the guy ended up in some sort of purgatory or if he really ended up in a “new” Earth that has a Jupiter rising in the background.
