Viewing Notes

Reading online apparently Jodorowsky is the father of the midnight movie, when John Lennon and Yoko Ono had El Topo playing at midnight shows and it went on for a year.

I can’t imagine sitting through this until 2am, not because it’s bad but because it’s such a heady, strange film. There’s a ton to love about it, but I most certainly liked the first half way better than the 2nd. I just thought the whole gun fighter thing was more interesting than the 2nd half which seemed to deal with his redemption. In fact it really seems like 2 different movies in a lot of ways.
